Students from a class on modern sheep farming gathered in a facility on Dal's Truro Campus in early April to assist in clipping the campus flock.Ìý
The shearing of ewes and rams resulted in 750 pounds of fleece, which was then sent to in Prince Edward Island for processing.
The finished product — blankets, and yarn to be turned into hats, mittens and headbands — are used primarily for gifts, with a limited quantity available for sale through the Faculty of Agriculture's
Jean Lynds, farm operations manager with the Faculty, was on hand at the Ruminant Animal CentreÌýto snap some photos of the annual ritual.
